It all started at midnight. While others were having snacks and
sugary drinks to toast the new year (non-alcoholic because we were at
work), I refrained. What was I thinking starting a 'fast' on a
holiday? The spread for New Year's rivaled Thanksgiving, only with
snacks and junk food!
I weighed-in at 241lbs (ouch!). I wonder where I'm keeping it. I failed to pack anything to eat for after midnight at work. Big mistake. After a few bottles of water I was looking for sugar-free gum, found some, and chewed it for a good four hours. Now I'm realizing that it had sweetener in it. Not only did I fail to bring food I was 'allowed' to eat, I ended up working 3 hours later than scheduled. When I got home I had cereal with almond milk and went to bed for a few hours.
To make things interesting - I'll let you know I'm also switching from an overnight schedule to a days. This will make it easier to avoid cheating and being very hungry at night! After a little sleep, I woke up for supper (peppers and Spanish rice) and instead of TV, read to the kids for over an hour and played a game they got for Christmas.
Unfortunately after the kids bedtime we settled in for some TV time. It was nice and relaxing, but not what we had planned to avoid. I foresee TV being a problem for us, but we won't be watching during the kids awake hours unless we agree to have a family movie.
Hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight. I plan on staying in bed and catching up on some reading if I can't sleep (the further I can stay away from the kitchen...).
