Ramona and Her Father by Beverly ClearyAnother Ramona book down. I enjoyed reading it to my 5yo daughter. She is learning to read, so I had her pick out some of the most common words as we read along - her, she, the, and, etc.
This one was interesting in that it was written in the '50s and still applies today (with slight differences). The dad battles smoking addiction, the sisters have a rivalry and Ramona deals with the problems of being a younger sister. Dads - bust your pride and spend some time reading this to your little ones.
